The past two nights at SLC have been very special. Wednesday night was the All Camp Show for Session 1. Mainside campers put on an excellent production of “Pocahontas.” Perfectly led by Becky, these campers poured their hearts and souls into the show, which was enjoyed by all. The Teenside drama program, led by Carol, also proved to be quite a showstopper. They performed a fun and interactive rendition of “Schoolhouse Rock” and had many of us reminiscing back to the good ole’ days of Saturday morning cartoons. They may have even turned a new generation onto those educational songs we love so much.
As you may have read previously, we had to reschedule the closing ceremonies of Olympics on Monday due to rain. But last night’s weather could not have been more perfect as we picked up right where we left off. The competition was fierce, and the excitement & enthusiasm shook the mountains. Blue Spring, Red Fall, White Summer, and Black Winter gave it their all through dances, songs, cheers, and plaques. In the end, the Black Team were the victors (followed by Blue, Red, and White) and everyone shared laughter and cheer in one of the greatest nights of each summer.
