Greetings from Surprise Lake!
It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through the summer of 2015. The boys of Timberline who stayed past trip break were excited to welcome two dozen new members into our unit – many returning campers and some who are new to Surprise Lake. The first few days have been fun and exciting, filled with lots of sports, swimming, and even a “Speed Dating” activity where our unit got to meet all of the girls in our sister unit, Boulder Hill. They all had a great time!
Timberline has done lots of cool and new activities already this week. We played a live-action version of Angry Birds, where campers acted as pigs and set up shelter to avoid being hit by nerf ball birds flung by other groups within our unit. We also had a great game of 4-Corner Treasure, a Capture the Flag-type game that involves four teams. Tonight we are playing sports with the older teen boys unit here on Teenside. The weather has been great, but unfortunately the one day of rain led us to cancel our bonfire with Boulder Hill. We hope to reschedule one soon.
We have a lot of great things in store this week, and we look forward to seeing you on Visiting Day!
