Week 3 is in the books and it’s difficult to believe that only one week of Trip 1 remains. Frontier has soared to new heights with the accomplishments of singing Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh for parents on Visiting Day, camping out at the Hinterlands on the unit overnight, and hiking to the top of Bull Hill to take in breathtaking views of the Hudson River Valley. On a beautiful and clear sky day, we were able to see the Catskill mountains to the north and a bit of the skyline of Manhattan to the south. The boys had great fun competing in SLC Sing singing Every Time We Touch by Cascada and found it to be one of the greatest bonding moments of the session. Every single Frontier camper put in 100% of their effort to sing and dance on the Eddie Cantor Stage in front of all of camp. Although there was no actual victory, the boys of Frontier learned the true meanings of teamwork and collaboration as every single Frontier member found themselves invested in hard work that was for the betterment of the whole unit. As these boys continue to build a strong community away from home, we look forward to our volunteer hike on Breakneck, Israeli Day and the Mainside Purim Party in the upcoming final week of the session. It’s hard to believe the past few weeks have gone by so quickly, yet Frontier remains focused on making this home away from home even stronger and still looks to maintain its title as the most spirited unit at Surprise Lake Camp.
