Greetings from SLC!
Today was the all-camp carnival in celebration of the 4th of July! Campers from both Mainside and Teenside celebrated the independence of our nation decked out in red, white, and blue. The celebration began last night with a spectacular fireworks display put on by Harry and the lifeguards. Our patriotism continued today with day-long fun and games at our celebratory carnival.
Campers could dunk their favorite counselors in the dunk tank. They could declare their life-long friendship at the marriage booth. They had donut eating contests, played “Stack the Dishes,” “Gone Fishin’,” had their fortunes read by our resident gypsies, and much, much more. There were bouncy houses on the ball fields where campers could race one another to the finish. They could get their faces painted and get temporary airbrushed tattoos.
All of our campers also spent some time on Teenside this afternoon or evening on a laser-tag course! They could finish up their day with a bright cloud of cotton candy or a frosty blue and red sno-cone (or both because, well, it’s camp). Both sides of camp will be enjoying their first socials this evening as well. Both socials are professionally DJ’d, and there will be dancing, games, ice cream, and fun had by all.
We’re looking forward to our first full week of programming next week, so stay tuned for further updates!
