Today our campers celebrated Tu B’av. According to the Talmud, Tu B’Av was a joyous holiday in the days of the Temple in Jerusalem, marking the beginning of the grape harvest. In modern-day Israel, it is celebrated as a holiday of love similar to Valentine’s Day. To celebrate, campers wrote their friends notes of appreciation and were able to invite a friend to sit with them for lunch.
Our Photo and Video specialty campers took a trip to Woodstock, NY to visit a studio where they learned different techniques of digital photography and photo shop. All of camp had a delicious barbecue for dinner tonight, enjoying hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad, and wonderful vegetarian options. Idyllwood and Journeys Way are out on overnights enjoying our incredibly beautiful campsites, and new camping equipment.
And our Drama campers are busy with dress rehearsals and final costume adjustments… weather permitting, the shows are on Tuesday night! Fingers crossed camp’s magic umbrella will keep it dry long enough… the show must go on!
