Surprise Lake Camp holds hands today halfway across the world with our Israeli friends, with whom we have prayed together so often for the release of Gilad Shalit. His release after 1,941 days of captivity in Gaza is a great blessing. We hold hands also with our Israeli friends whose hearts are heavy today because people who have caused unspeakable pain are being freed by Israel to secure Gilad’s historic release.
May we come to live in a time when none of us need know the shadow of violence, when peace washes over us and upraises us, and when we can all walk together safely in the Promised Land, holding hands with each other and all the world!
With love to all SLC Israelis past and present,
Surprise Lake Camp
